How is it the sun can shine when the rain comes pouring down? 8 vivid colors fall in line I wonder if you still care as they cascade from the sky Does Sleeping Beauty still catch your eye? Now you're standing on the side of the road afraid you might get wet Did you decide to play it safe? You once let me in, you once let me near you You think that I can't, but I really can hear you So won't you talk to me while I've got all the time in the world? Dancing in plain view seems to do nothing for you even if I were your dream come true What were your reasons for starting up the next world war? Your bullets never pacified You once let me in You once let me near you You think that I can't but I really can hear you So won't you talk to me while I've got all the time in the world We were once intoxicating could hardly catch our breath Now you're body's next to mine but it seems your spirits left You once let me in You once let me near you You think that I can't but I really can hear you So won't you talk to me while I've got all the time in the world

Please 04:40
Please don't say you need a tragedy I've heard this one before The sound of silence comes before the slamming of the door Hang my head so I don't see you Close both eyes and fade through Justify why I'm still standing here waiting on another of your tragedies Please don't ruin this fine moment It shouldn't have to end I know you're used to darkness I've seen your sun go out Hang my head so I don't see you Close both eyes and fade through Justify why I'm still standing here waiting on another of your tragedies “Stand up and take it like a man” Well, that is what you told me I stood strong no matter what you sold me Now I'm not listening anymore Hang my head so I don't see you Close both eyes and fade through Justify why I'm still standing here waiting on another of your tragedies

I can't know the thing you don't say I listen hard and watch each move that reflects the traps you've laid I want to love you as I listen but all I hear are snowflakes falling in NY I want to wish it all away, but I only wish the 6 Train wouldn't stall once a day And tho I used to hate that I hate this part where you're breaking my heart even more. I can't believe I had to chase you down the street just to hear you blame the things you saw in me I wish I was sitting in that cafe' in NY wondering how I'd pay my rent And tho I used to hate that I hate this part where you're breaking my heart even more Down in to your arms down into the alarms that go off in your head telling you to run now, this can't go on now why must you destroy everything that you see every good thing that happens to be I used to hate the rats and the mice and all those sleepless city nights I hate the cold, my runny nose and overpriced cigarettes But I'd give anything, for just one of those things 'cause I hate you for breaking my heart even more
4.
Nevermind 02:27
Woke up in last night's make-up wearing last night's dress never mind the drama never mind the mess You were the first in line and the last to go Where you'd stop no one knows So you told some lies to get you by convinced you'd make it through the night Never mind the details Never mind the fight It was one thing to remember but better to forget the night you fell in love the night you wish you'd never met Oh, never mind Now you search your world to find all you've left behind you can't stand the memories and the memories can't stand you wrapped in unforgiving sheets and even your two pillows weep never mind the consolation never mind the desperation never mind
5.
Pretty 04:58
Sometimes all I've got is “pretty” When all else seems to fail Sometimes all I've got is “pretty” when words just up and leave me Sometimes all you lack is kindness when things you've done turn to blindness So I sit and feel the burns from your words as you sit and you say you don't need me You don't need me Feel my breath, feel my hands, feel my heart leave me as you sit and you say you don't need me Should have run should have known just believed what they say about those you say they love and then leave you Could have run could have turned but I didn't so I learned that sometimes all you get is “pretty” that sometimes all that's left is "pretty" Sometimes all I've got is "pretty" when all else seems to fail
6.
1,000 Kisses 03:05
If I could kiss you a thousand times find your heart and mind Caressing you I get swept away by letting you stay in my arms Your charm suggests “this could be something” I confess, it's all or nothing nothing less Now that I've told you can I still hold you tonite? Throw my arms 'round you tonite light a candle and dim the light Hold you close to me I've told you everything time will tell the rest but let me still suggest that This could be something I confess, it's all or nothing nothing less Now that I've told you can I still hold you tonite? Promise you that every time you search my soul you will find as long as you stay true I'll be true to you So put your mind to rest and let my touch suggest that This could be something I confess, it's all or nothing nothing less Now that I've told you can I still hold you tonite?

about

"This album fills a void in today’s top ten, infusing it with some much needed sophistication and thoughtful songcrafting."-Jennifer Layton, Asst. Editor Indie-Music.com

Released in the summer of 2005 this debut release won Ari accolades and immediate world-wide critical acclaim. 85th and Nowhere is known for its "collegiate" jangly guitar sounds and pure raw passion due in part to Ari's soulful writing and singing as well as its analog-to-digital format. This mini-album quickly put Ari on the musical map where she has remained to this day.

From all corners of the world came praises that something was new, something was different and someone wasn't going to go anywhere but “up.” Seattle, a known hot-bed of music, endorsed Ari right out of the gate with this indelible statement:

“Keep an eye out for the lady! She's going places.”

“85th and Nowhere” is a love story from cover to cover along the backdrop of music reminiscent of Nick Lowe, early R.E.M, Elvis Costello, Blondie and even The Ronettes for good measure.

Written by Ari with collaborations with some of Tampa Bay's crème of the crop who also turned out for the recording in an overwhelming show of support. It was produced with the legendary Ronny Elliott with a generous (and unsolicited)gift from the owner of The Hub, the most fabulous dive bar on Planet Earth. It was recorded at Hitmaker's Studio. It was never mastered yet has had world-wide airplay and continues to sell and be played by fans around the world.
